The Hollywood Landmark Hotel, previously known as the Highland Gardens Hotel, is a historic boutique owned by a multi-generational family. The Mid-century modern hotel, designed by modernist architect Edward Fickett, features classic Post and Beam architecture. Opened its doors in the mid-1950s, the hotel was built for entertainers, influencers, visitors, and Hollywood celebrities. The hotel offers over 70 rooms, includes one, two, and three-bedroom suites, making it a cozy home away from home for many guests. Situated within walking distance of many major attractions, the hotel soon became a popular choice for famous Hollywood stars to call home.

Located just off Hollywood Boulevard, our hotel continues to attract a wide array of famous and up-and-coming media personalities. Our Rock Star Guests have included members of The Rat Pack, Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin, Jefferson Airplane, Moody Blues, Shep Gordon, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Paul Butterfield Band, Ten Years After, Joe Cocker, Siegfried & Roy, and many more.

"I was a boy when Janis Joplin died in that room 50 years ago this week. She was found dead on the floor next to the bed. Thomas Noguchi, L.A.'s coroner to the stars, described for the press the alcohol in her bloodstream, the hypodermic found by the bedside and the packet of white powder in the trash." - Nicholas Goldberg, LA Times

Ther hotel has also been featured in various television shows, fashion photography shoots, casting events, and art fairs. Some recent highlights include appearances in popular shows like 90210 and Unusual Suspects, as well as film shoots for movies like Greenberg starring Ben Stiller. We've even had the pleasure of hosting photo shoots with celebrities like Jennifer Lawrence and Italian Vogue. So, whether you're looking for a relaxing stay or a chance to rub elbows with the stars, our hotel has something for everyone.
